Light Left Behind is a photography art show featuring the culminating work of nine senior photography students from Sacramento State University. The title evokes the essence of photography itself—an art form that captures the lingering traces of light, preserving fleeting moments as enduring memories. As we move through time, photographs serve as silent witnesses, holding onto the light that once was, even as life changes around it. Each artist presents an individual exhibition that reflects their unique voice and vision, yet collectively the show explores themes of memory, identity, passage, and transformation. “Light Left Behind” invites viewers to reflect on what remains visible in the wake of time’s passage—and what fades into shadow.
The event is free and open to the public, with complimentary snacks provided. Join us for the opening reception on First Friday, May 2nd from 6–9PM at the WAL Building (Warehouse Artist Lofts) in Sacramento, CA, and celebrate the next generation of photographers in a vibrant community setting.
