About the Show
Ephemera is a pop-up photography exhibition organized by Pop Goes the Easel, showcasing the work of nine newly graduated 2025 Photography alumni from Sacramento State University.
“Ephemera” refers to things that are fleeting, transient, or meant to last only a short time—like a passing moment, a printed flyer, or a memory preserved in a photograph. In the context of photography, art, and media, ephemera captures the essence of impermanence: the way light, emotion, and time can be briefly held before fading. For this exhibition, each artist embraced the theme in a personal way, exploring what is momentary in their lives, environments, or creative practices. Whether through candid snapshots, constructed narratives, or experimental techniques, their work reflects a shared meditation on the beauty and fragility of what doesn’t last.
Each artist will present a personal mini exhibition, offering a glimpse into their unique vision and creative journey. The event is free and open to the public, with complimentary snacks for all guests. Join us for the reception on Saturday, May 17th from 5–8PM at the Futures Explored Building near 25th and R Streets in Sacramento, CA, and celebrate this exciting new chapter for a talented group of emerging photographers.
