Final Shot: A Successful Closing Reception
Congratulations to the Sacramento State University Photography seniors for a successful closing reception of their exhibition Final Shot at the Verge Center for the Arts! This thoughtfully curated show brought together the creative voices of the graduating class, each contributing a standout image that encapsulated their unique perspective and artistic growth. Visitors were treated not only to striking photographs but also to an array of supporting media including photography books, 3D art installations, and video presentations—demonstrating the breadth and depth of talent emerging from this year’s cohort.
A special highlight of the evening was the trio of engaging Pecha Kucha presentations that gave deeper insight into the artists’ processes and inspirations. Sofiya Gladysh shared her dynamic exploration of skateboard culture through photography, while Katelyn Vengersammy tackled the often-overlooked complexities of mental health in suburban America. Sephine Milan offered a powerful and thought-provoking series examining the American incarceration system. Together, these presentations enriched the exhibition and underscored the diverse, socially aware voices shaping the next generation of photographers. Bravo to the Class of 2025!
