Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind will take the stage on July 11, 2025 at Chautauqua Playhouse, one of the Sacramento region’s longest‑running and most community‑rooted theaters. Known for nurturing local talent and providing accessible, quality productions, Chautauqua Playhouse offers the perfect home for this youth‑driven performance, which brings together a cast of high‑school and early‑college artists stepping into the world of community theater.

This performance supported by longtime theater advocates Ray and Susan Tater. Guided by emerging director Kayla Anne—marking her first time directing a play—and supported by senior director and high‑school educator Sara Townsend, the production introduces young performers to ensemble work, timing, storytelling, and collaborative stagecraft in a supportive, mentorship‑centered environment.
