Meet the Board of Directors
At Pop Goes the Easel, our Board of Directors is made up entirely of experienced artists from across California who share a deep commitment to nurturing the next generation of creatives. United by a passion for community and accessibility in the arts, our board works collaboratively to support and guide the organization’s mission. Together, we’re dedicated to creating meaningful opportunities for up-and-coming local artists and making art more visible, inclusive, and celebrated in our communities.

Sephine Milan is a graphic designer and photographer based in Los Angeles, California, with a BFA in Photography from Sacramento State University. She is also the owner of Great Gatsby Photography, an events photography company known for its cinematic style and creative edge. Drawing from her roots in theater and the performing arts, Sephine brings a bold, immersive flair to every project—whether it’s designing a book, building an interactive installation, or curating a full-scale art exhibition. Her multidisciplinary skill set spans 3D design, interactive media, book design, and exhibit design, allowing her to craft experiences that are as visually striking as they are emotionally resonant.

Nikko Faber is a retired artist from Los Angeles, California, whose creative journey spans a vibrant career in hand-drawn 2D animation, sculpture, costume design, set design, and home interior design. With an MFA in Film from ArtCenter College of Design in Pasadena, Nikko’s multidisciplinary background reflects a lifelong passion for storytelling through visual form and spatial experience. Whether crafting intricate animated sequences or designing immersive physical spaces, Nikko’s work has always blended artistry with a deep understanding of atmosphere, character, and mood.

Doug Dertinger is a photographer and artist based in Northern California, where he lives, works, and teaches. As a Professor in the Photography Program at California State University, Sacramento, and a member of Sacramento’s Axis Gallery, Doug brings both academic rigor and creative depth to his practice. He specializes in 20th-century photographic processes, as well as the history and theory of photography, offering students a strong foundation in both technique and critical thinking. His own photographic work explores the quiet presence of unattended and vestigial spaces in the built and natural environment, drawing attention to the overlooked and the in-between. Doug holds an MFA from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design.

Evin Monico is a photographer from Modesto, California, with a keen eye for fashion photography and a deep interest in capturing alternative lifestyles. Currently pursuing his BFA in Photography at Sacramento State University, with an expected graduation in 2026, Evin brings both technical skill and creative flair to his work. In addition to his growing portfolio in fashion and lifestyle imagery, he is also an experienced events photographer and has worked closely with art galleries, gaining valuable insight into exhibition practices and the professional art world. Evin’s work is bold, expressive, and rooted in a desire to showcase individuality through the lens.
